Job Summary

This crucial role involves initiating, coordinating, and leading complex project work within structural hydraulic engineering, river restoration, and comprehensive flood protection measures across West Mecklenburg. The Planning Engineer will be responsible for key infrastructure projects, including dike construction, weir systems, pumping stations, and the creation of fish passage facilities, ensuring strict compliance with EU water directives (EU-WRRL and HWRM-RL). Daily tasks include preparing service specifications, managing procurement processes for planning and construction services, and overseeing construction sites and external contractors (planning offices and construction firms). Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Water Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field, coupled with professional experience, preferably in a planning office or similar capacity.
