Job Summary

This Project Lead role is crucial for driving the complete software development lifecycle for High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Control and Protection systems during project execution. The successful candidate will manage a team of software engineers, ensuring strict compliance with system requirements and customer needs. Day-to-day tasks include managing the development process from startup through final customer acceptance tests, coordinating offsite and onsite testing, tracking progress, and reporting to project management. The role requires expertise in requirements engineering, defining acceptance tests, and promoting model-based engineering, specifically utilizing X-in-the-loop environments. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer with a background in large industrial converter applications seeking a leadership role focused on technical integration, testing, and quality assurance within the critical field of grid technology and energy transition.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical or Automation Engineering) or relevant technical field. Master's or PhD in HVDC controls, AC/DC Power systems, Power electronics, or Wind power converters is a plus.

Experience

  • Several years of hands-on experience in Control and Protection (C&P) systems for large industrial converter applications (engineering/commissioning in HVDC or similar electrical converter systems)
  • Alternatively, 5+ years in overall technical project management during PhD studies
  • Experience in leading small engineering or commissioning teams (a plus)
