Job Summary

This role seeks a dedicated Hardware Engineer specializing in Safety Instrumentation & Control (I&C) to manage and enhance critical engineering tools. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full lifecycle of these specialized tools, which are primarily built on MS Access and MS Visio utilizing VBA. Key daily activities include drafting detailed requirements specifications (Pflichten- and Lastenhefte), developing and maintaining comprehensive user and developer documentation, and driving continuous improvement based on end-user feedback. You will also provide essential project support during tool implementation and conduct user training sessions. Essential qualifications include a completed university degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, robust programming skills in a high-level language (such as VBA, C, Perl, Python, or Java), proficiency with databases (ideally SQL), and experience in documenting programming results. This is a full-time, permanent position offering a competitive salary and a desirable 35-hour work week.

Experience

  • Initial experience in creating requirements specifications (Pflichten- and Lastenhefte)
  • Experience in the implementation and review of requirements specifications
  • Professional experience in documenting programming results and commenting program code
