Job Summary

This role involves supporting cutting-edge research at TWINCORE, a joint institution of the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI) and Hannover Medical School (MHH), specifically focusing on developing a prophylactic vaccine against the Hepatitis C Virus (HCV). The Technical Assistant will join an international and interdisciplinary team dedicated to addressing this global health priority. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting scientists in manufacturing new vaccine candidates, testing these candidates in mouse models, analyzing antibodies from mouse sera, and performing mammalian cell culture and infection experiments. You will also help the team with general laboratory organization. Key qualifications require a completed technical assistant qualification (such as BTA or MTA) and practical experience in cell culture, virology, or microbiology is highly desirable. This position offers the chance to contribute directly to a vital project funded by the German Centre for Infection Research (DZIF), aiming to select the most promising HCV vaccine candidate for clinical implementation.

  • Experience assisting with animal experiments, such as sample collection or animal monitoring
