PhD Candidate in Decision Support for Infrastructure Fleet Monitoring | PhD position in Decision Support at the Fleet Level
ETH Zurich
Job Summary
The successful candidate will embark on a prestigious 36-month PhD position (A-DC1) within the DIAMOND Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action Doctoral Network (MSCA DN), hosted at ETH Zurich. This role focuses on developing next-generation distributed intelligence and robust decision support systems tailored for large fleets of critical civil infrastructure assets, such as bridges, railways, and wind turbines. You will benefit from advanced training across various European universities and industry partners, fostering solutions for decentralized, data-driven monitoring and condition assessment. Key research objectives include developing sophisticated graph-based and stochastic models for decentralized condition assessment and predictive maintenance. Furthermore, you will create decision-support modules that seamlessly integrate sensing, uncertainty quantification, and asset typologies to enable scalable, real-time evaluation and mitigation strategies. This is a unique opportunity to contribute cutting-edge research in a highly collaborative, international environment.
