Job Summary

This role is for a Project Engineer specializing in Control and Safety Technology (DSTW/ETCS) for the major Rhine-Alpine Corridor project within DB InfraGO AG in Cologne. The successful candidate will ensure the quality and compliance of planning and realization services for construction projects, focusing heavily on railway control and safety systems, including ETCS and interlocking projects. Key responsibilities involve coordinating technical support during planning, procurement, construction, and acceptance phases, managing technical interfaces with other trades, and preparing detailed documentation for tenders, approvals, and financing agreements. The engineer is also responsible for managing and updating project costs and schedules in coordination with technical and commercial project controllers, and regularly reporting progress and risks to project management. This position requires a strong focus on quality, cost, and schedule awareness, ensuring the sustainable infrastructure for future generations is delivered efficiently.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor/Master) in Electrical Engineering, Control and Safety Technology, Communications Technology, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable field.

Experience

  • Experience in Control and Safety Technology (LST)
  • Knowledge of new construction equipment technology
  • Initial professional experience in planning and/or coordination of (railway) infrastructure projects
  • Experience in construction execution of electronic interlockings and associated commissioning processes
