Job Summary

The Council of Experts on Environmental Issues (SRU) is seeking a Research Associate in Berlin-Mitte to cover German and European Sustainability and Environmental Policy. This role involves analyzing and evaluating developments in national and EU environmental policy, conducting literature research, and preparing expert reports and drafts for ongoing council work, particularly concerning environmental policy implementation. The successful candidate will also maintain contact with environmental research and policy institutions. You must possess a relevant Master's degree (e.g., political, administrative, social, natural, or engineering sciences) and demonstrate familiarity with German and European environmental and sustainability policy contexts. Strong scientific writing skills, a clear understanding of political dynamics, and a willingness to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration are essential. This position is initially a parental leave cover, encouraging applications from entry-level professionals.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or equivalent university diploma in Political Science, Administrative Science, Social Science, Economics, Natural Science, Engineering Science, or a suitable interdisciplinary field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in environmental and sustainability policy in Germany and Europe
