Job Summary

This role involves crucial Level 1 IT maintenance and support for the vital European Galileo satellite navigation system. The specialist will be responsible for planning, documenting, and executing maintenance tasks on core IT infrastructure, handling L1 hardware and software incidents, performing basic configurations, and monitoring tickets. A key function is acting as the primary point of contact for the Support Desk, ensuring stable operations, and coordinating follow-up actions with L2/L3 teams. Candidates must possess a degree or apprenticeship in Computer Science or a related field, coupled with 2-5 years of professional experience managing servers, firewalls, switches, and working proficiently with UNIX and Windows systems. The position requires strong analytical skills, routine application of ITIL processes, and excellent written and verbal English communication, offering the opportunity to work in a dynamic, international environment on a globally significant European mission.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree or apprenticeship in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or comparable fields

Experience

  • At least 2-5 years of professional experience
  • Experience with IT standards, servers, firewalls, switches, and media converters
  • Routine experience with UNIX and Windows systems, including Linux Shell usage and Windows administration
  • Experience applying ITIL processes
