Job Summary

This role involves supporting materials science research, focusing primarily on thermal analysis and alloy production at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg. The successful candidate will independently conduct and evaluate thermal analysis measurements, including regular calibration and maintenance of DTA/DSC devices. Key responsibilities also include the manufacturing and heat treatment of alloys on a laboratory scale, maintaining furnaces, and establishing new experimental methodologies. You will be responsible for operating and organizing the laboratory area, documenting experimental data, and supporting student projects and ongoing research. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Chemical or Physics Laboratory Assistant, Physical Technical Assistant, Materials Tester, or potentially an Engineering degree (University of Applied Sciences) or comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in thermal analysis and/or alloy production
  • Experience with materials science or technical issues concerning metallic and/or ceramic material systems (advantageous)
  • Willingness to serve as a first responder (First Aid)
