Job Summary

This role involves developing, optimizing, and operating robust ETL processes crucial for integrating clinical data into the research infrastructure of the Medical Faculty at Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg. Day-to-day tasks include extensive work with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, focusing on database modeling and optimization, and connecting external systems using standard APIs (REST, SOAP). A key responsibility is supporting the implementation of FHIR interfaces to standardize medical data provision. The ideal candidate must possess strong expertise in ETL development, excellent knowledge of PostgreSQL, and solid programming skills, ideally in Python. This position offers a stimulating, interdisciplinary work environment within a maximum care hospital setting, allowing the successful candidate to contribute directly to cutting-edge research infrastructure through the Medical Informatics Initiative. The role is full-time and fixed-term until the end of 2027, offering flexible working options and opportunities for scientific qualification, such as pursuing a PhD.
