Job Summary

This role seeks a passionate HSE Water Protection Officer to drive operational water protection efforts at TenneT, supporting the crucial energy transition in Germany. The core responsibilities involve ensuring strict compliance with §65 WHG (Water Resources Act), advising executive management and operational personnel on all water protection matters, and conducting regular inspections and maintenance oversight of wastewater facilities, including measurement and characterization. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing environmentally friendly procedures, creating the mandatory annual water protection report, and coordinating closely with regulatory authorities. Key qualifications include a degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field, coupled with fundamental knowledge of environmental management systems. This position offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact on environmental standards within a growing, future-oriented company, requiring good German skills and willingness to travel for site visits. The role is permanent and offers a 37-hour work week with flexible scheduling options.

Required Skills

Education

Degree in Environmental Technology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a comparable technical field; alternatively, an equivalent qualification in water protection.

Experience

  • Professional experience in operational water protection
  • Fundamental knowledge in environmental management
  • Experience in monitoring and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Experience in assessing operational processes regarding water protection requirements
