Job Summary

This doctoral position focuses on cutting-edge research and development within the field of Electrical Measurement Technology, specifically investigating the security architecture of a modern 5G Standalone Campus Network. The core mission is to utilize the network (Network As A Sensor) to classify protocols and applications in real-time, enabling the detection of anomalies and cyber-attacks. Daily responsibilities include simulating typical industrial application environments using Virtual Reality, integrating industrial endpoints, implementing standard protocols like OPC-UA, MQTT, and Profinet, and developing advanced AI algorithms for anomaly detection. Candidates must possess a Master's degree with very good results in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. The role offers the unique opportunity for scientific qualification (Ph.D. or Habilitation), participation in teaching, and collaboration with an industrial partner on critical infrastructure security.

Master's degree (or Diplom [univ.]) completed with very good results in Electrical/Information Technology, Computer Science Engineering, General Engineering Sciences, or Physics

Experience

  • Good knowledge or initial professional experience in Computer Science, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), or Cyber Security
  • Strong interest in scientific work and research
  • Ability to teach (3.0 trimester weekly hours)
  • Professional experience in general administrative and academic self-governance tasks
