Job Summary

This role involves supporting Bavarian district administrative authorities in air pollution control for industrial facilities, focusing on chemical plants. The successful candidate will provide expert opinions in approval procedures, address technical questions regarding the state of the art in air quality regulation (TA Luft), and actively participate in implementing EU Industrial Emissions Directive conclusions concerning Best Available Techniques (BAT) into national law. Key responsibilities include conducting and assessing dispersion calculations, potentially using AUSTAL 3, and developing an online screening program based on this tool. The position requires strong technical knowledge in environmental protection, particularly immission control and exhaust gas cleaning technologies, alongside excellent communication skills for advising authorities, industry, and the public. This is a full-time, fixed-term contract until October 31, 2027, offering a chance to contribute significantly to environmental policy implementation within a motivated team at the Bavarian State Office for the Environment.
