This role involves working as a Health Engineer within the Department of Infection Protection and Environmental Medicine for the City of Hamm's Health Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring public health through the rigorous monitoring and enforcement of water quality standards, primarily focusing on drinking water supply systems and public swimming facilities, in accordance with the Drinking Water Ordinance and relevant regulations. Key responsibilities include conducting monitoring, advising operators, ordering necessary protective measures, and assessing risks associated with non-compliance. The position requires a university degree in environmental or hygiene engineering, strong technical knowledge of water and environmental hygiene regulations, and excellent communication skills to advise both authorities and the public. Experience

  • Comprehensive technical knowledge and application experience of relevant technical regulations in drinking water and environmental hygiene, or willingness to acquire it
  • Ideally, basic knowledge of administrative law
  • Ideally, good knowledge of a specialized application (e.g., TEIS)
