Job Summary

This role as an Electrical Grid Control Technician at NEW Netz GmbH, based in Mönchengladbach, is critical to managing the regional medium-voltage electricity and water distribution networks, supporting Germany's energy transition. The core duties involve executing and controlling switching operations across 27 substations and over 4,500 local network stations using the central control system. You will be responsible for circuit planning, integrating renewable energies (Redispatch 2.0), and acting as the first responder to operational faults and warnings, initiating safety measures, and supporting fault service management. The position also includes monitoring waterworks and handling customer inquiries. To succeed, candidates must possess a qualification as an Electrical Engineering Technician or Master Craftsman, coupled with several years of experience in power supply operations. The ability to remain calm and focused during high-stress fault situations and a commitment to permanent shift work are essential prerequisites for this challenging and vital role.
