Job Summary

This System Engineer role focuses on the real-time simulation of High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) transmission and Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) applications in Erlangen. The successful candidate will manage the complete lifecycle of real-time simulators, including planning, setup, commissioning, and thorough documentation. A key part of the daily work involves operating these simulators to support Control & Protection Engineering activities and executing critical Factory Tests for new high-voltage plant systems, requiring the creation of detailed test documentation. Applicants must hold a completed university degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or an equivalent technical field. Essential qualifications include professional experience in power converter technology (HVDC/FACTS), high-voltage systems, and digital simulation techniques. Proficiency with real-time simulation systems such as RTDS, Hypersim, or e-megasim, coupled with knowledge of simulation tools like MATLAB/Simulink, EMTDC, or EMTP-RV, is mandatory. As German is the project working language, fluent German skills (B2+) are a prerequisite for this challenging position.
