Job Summary

This role involves providing essential IT support and system integration services for the scientific departments and service units of a prestigious Max Planck Institute focused on fundamental research. The specialist will be responsible for the full lifecycle management of IT infrastructure, including installing, configuring, and rigorously testing computer hardware, peripheral devices, network components, operating systems, and various software products. A key part of the job is implementing, monitoring, and expanding central IT services, alongside managing the procurement and maintenance of hardware and software assets. Candidates must possess a successfully completed vocational training in IT System Integration or an equivalent qualification, coupled with very strong knowledge of Windows clients and proficiency with macOS. Success in this role requires a high degree of service orientation, self-reliance in problem-solving, meticulous documentation skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
