Job Summary

This challenging Post-doctoral position focuses on ensuring food safety within the innovative field of vertical agriculture. The successful candidate will conduct comprehensive bibliographic studies, perform detailed Hazard Analysis (HA), and evaluate Critical Control Points (CCP) for a vertical farming production facility. A key responsibility is designing and implementing a robust HACCP concept within Agroscope's existing pilot installation, followed by validation through laboratory analysis. This role requires a PhD in natural or food sciences and previous experience in food safety. You must be adept at scientific reporting, publications, and working autonomously in an interdisciplinary environment, bridging the gap between scientific theory and practical application. Your work will directly support both facility operators and cantonal food control authorities, significantly contributing to the risk-based self-controls and official checks essential for maintaining high food safety standards in products derived from vertical farming systems.

Required Skills

Education

University degree with a Doctorate (PhD) in Natural Sciences, Food Sciences, or related disciplines.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the field of food safety
  • Experience in writing scientific reports, publications, and expert opinions
  • Ability to work autonomously, focused on objectives and solutions
  • Comfort working in an interdisciplinary scientific environment, moving between science and practice

Additional
