Job Summary
The Max Planck Society is seeking an IT Service Manager for Virtual Workplaces to join their new central IT department. This role involves overseeing the operation and continuous development of approximately 2,700 virtual workplaces (vAP) used across various administrative applications and Office products. The successful candidate will also manage the configuration of end-user devices in Munich and its satellite offices to ensure seamless access to the virtual environment. Key responsibilities include ensuring stable IT operations, leading projects for new technology integration, optimizing ITSM processes, managing IT service providers, and overseeing IT procurement and budget. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of IT within a leading international research institution.
Required Skills
Education
Relevant university degree (e.g., Computer Science, Business Informatics) or equivalent qualification through relevant professional experience.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in desktop and application virtualization
- Several years of experience with Microsoft operating systems and Office software products
- Experience in managing expert teams and external service providers
- Experience in leading IT projects
