Job Summary
The City of Speyer is seeking a dedicated GIS Specialist to coordinate and advance its municipal Geoinformation System (GIS) and to establish and maintain a digital twin of the city. This role is crucial for modernizing and networking georeferenced data to support municipal planning and decision-making. Day-to-day, the specialist will be involved in introducing a new GIS, organizing internal training, migrating data, and managing geodata interfaces. They will also be responsible for user and rights management within the GIS and digital twin, processing land-related data, and contributing to urban development plans. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Geoinformatics or Surveying, experience with GIS systems, and knowledge of relevant data standards and software like QGIS, PostGIS, and PostgreSQL. This position offers a varied and responsible role with opportunities for professional development and a potential for permanent employment after an initial two-year contract.
Required Skills
Education
Completed degree in Geoinformatics, Surveying, or comparable qualification
Experience
- Experience in the introduction, administration, and application of GIS systems
- Knowledge of data handling (e.g., ALKIS, LoD2, CAD/GIS standards)
- Proficient use of QGIS or comparable software
- Knowledge of PostGIS and PostgreSQL
- Basic knowledge of public procurement law and project control (desirable)
- Knowledge of UNREAL-Engine and Twinmotion (advantageous)
