Job Summary
As a Senior Engineer in Alternative Computing, you will be instrumental in shaping the digital future of Germany's armed forces. Your role involves evaluating and implementing cutting-edge computing approaches such as Photonic, Neuromorphic, Reservoir, and Analog Computing, including algorithm development. You will craft long-term strategies for providing computing capacity for AI and autonomous systems, continuously researching emerging technologies in alternative computer architectures. This position requires designing and executing technical evaluations with novel microprocessors and accelerators, presenting complex concepts to stakeholders, and collaborating closely with various BWI and Bundeswehr units on quantum computing, AI, and autonomous systems. This is an exciting opportunity for an IT specialist passionate about hardware architectures and bleeding-edge technologies to contribute to national security.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree in IT or Engineering or comparable qualification
Experience
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in hardware/edge computing after graduation
- Experience with novel microprocessors or alternative (chip) architectures for mathematical problems (e.g., TPU, ARM, RISC-V, Neuromorphic Computing, or analog computers)
