Job Summary

As a Junior System Engineer focusing on Backup & Recovery, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and continuously improving the critical Disaster & Recovery solutions for the University Hospital Zurich (USZ), one of Switzerland's largest medical institutions. Your daily responsibilities include the rigorous monitoring, verification, and operational assurance of all backup jobs, conducting restoration tests, and managing the relevant backup policies for USZ systems. You will collaborate closely with various IT specialized departments and the Architecture Team to implement technical concepts and expand disaster recovery technologies. This role requires a professional IT qualification in System Engineering, coupled with practical experience in high-availability server environments, particularly using virtualization technologies like VMware vSphere and vSAN. Expertise in industry-standard backup solutions such as CommVault or Veeam is essential.
