Job Summary

Join the Berlin Police's Central Service Directorate for Information and Communication Technology as an IT Security Administrator. In this role, you will be instrumental in providing secure access to external networks for over 27,000 employees via a high-performance IT network. Your responsibilities will include operating and monitoring a wide array of IT security components such as firewalls, application-level gateways, web-content gateways, IDSs, VPNs, switches, routers, email encryption gateways, email content scanners, and various antivirus systems across different datacenter infrastructures, ensuring 24/7 high-availability. You'll manage the entire lifecycle from technology tendering and procurement to configuration, commissioning, and monitoring of components. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to public safety by enhancing the security of the Berlin Police network and implementing new IT security concepts.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a mathematical, natural science, or technical degree with a focus on data processing. Alternatively, extensive professional experience (at least three years) in relevant fields with comparable qualifications.

Experience

  • Professional experience in implementing ICT security requirements (e.g., BSI IT-Grundschutz Catalog, emergency concepts, data protection and data security)
  • At least three years of professional experience in relevant fields for candidates without a degree
