Job Summary

As an Associate Principal Scientist in Biology & Assays, you will be a key contributor to innovative drug discovery projects within highly interdisciplinary teams. Leveraging your expertise in biochemistry and cell biology, you will design and implement tailored assay systems to enable data-driven decision-making. Your day-to-day will involve developing strategies to link targets and modalities, establishing biochemical assays for enzymes, protein-protein interactions, and protein degradation, and performing high-throughput screens using robotic systems. You will critically assess scientific questions, collaborate with diverse scientific experts, and stay updated on drug discovery technologies. This role is crucial for advancing medical research, supervising junior scientists, and contributing to patient-focused drug development.

Required Skills

Education

PhD degree in Biochemistry or equivalent

Experience

  • Post-graduate training in an industrial or academic environment
  • Expertise in biochemical assay development and its application to complex biological problems in drug discovery
  • Experience in protein expression and production in eukaryotic, insect and bacterial cells
  • Experience with a variety of biophysical methods like SPR, TSA, MS or MST
  • Hands-on experience with protein biology, structural biology, molecular biology and lab automation
