Job Summary

This role involves developing and implementing automated workflows within an existing workflow engine for the Regional Computing Center Erlangen (RRZE), the internal IT service provider for Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU). The successful candidate will integrate internal and external systems via APIs and databases, and develop user-friendly web interfaces for these workflows. A key part of the job is analyzing and optimizing current processes for automation potential, collaborating with departments to gather requirements, and continuously improving workflows. The position requires a university degree in Computer Science or a related field, strong skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and web frameworks, along with excellent German and good English language abilities. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Master/Diplom [Uni]) in Computer Science, Computational Engineering, or a comparable field

Experience

  • Experience in developing server-side JavaScript applications with Node.js
  • Proficient in creating modern web interfaces using HTML, CSS, and frontend frameworks
  • Experience with at least one web framework (e.g., Grails)
  • Knowledge of business process specification languages (e.g., BPMN 2.0) is a plus
