Job Summary

This role is for an engaged professional with expertise in animal ecology and a talent for project organization and leadership. You will join an interdisciplinary team to lead projects focused on fauna, species protection, and Natura 2000 within complex approval processes. Day-to-day, you will operationally and organizationally manage projects, ensuring optimal achievement of deadlines and economic goals. This includes coordinating with clients, experts, and authorities, presenting project results, and preparing environmental and nature conservation approval documents like species protection assessments and Natura 2000 compatibility studies. You will also organize and guide mapping efforts, evaluate potential impacts, and develop necessary avoidance and compensation measures. This position offers the chance to contribute to sustainable solutions in environmental planning and work with a team across various environmental disciplines.

Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed degree in Landscape Planning/Ecology, Biology, Landscape Management, or comparable education/experience

Experience

  • Professional experience in project leadership
  • Good faunistic and animal ecological knowledge
  • Good knowledge of relevant environmental law (BNatSchG, Natura 2000, species protection and its planning aspects) and legal changes due to the EU Emergency Ordinance (e.g., § 6 WindBG, § 43m EnWG)
  • Extended knowledge in planning is desirable
  • Preferably several years of experience in the aforementioned areas
