Job Summary

This role is for an engaged professional with expertise in animal ecology and a talent for project organization and leadership, focusing on environmental planning within complex approval processes. The Project Manager will lead projects related to fauna, species protection, and Natura 2000, ensuring optimal achievement of project goals within budget and timelines. Key responsibilities include coordinating with clients and authorities, presenting project results, and preparing environmental and nature conservation approval documents such as species protection assessments and Natura 2000 compatibility studies. The successful candidate will also organize and guide mapping activities, evaluate potential impacts, and develop necessary mitigation and compensation measures. This position offers the chance to contribute to sustainable solutions within an interdisciplinary team, working on diverse and impactful environmental projects across Germany.

Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed degree in Landscape Planning/Ecology, Biology, Landscape Management, or comparable education/experience

Experience

  • Professional experience in project leadership
  • Good faunistic and animal ecological knowledge
  • Good knowledge of relevant environmental law (BNatSchG, Natura 2000, species protection) and legal changes due to the EU emergency regulation (e.g., § 6 WindBG, § 43m EnWG)
  • Extended knowledge in planning is desirable
  • Several years of experience in the aforementioned areas is preferred
