Job Summary

This role is for a Deputy Head of Department focusing on non-core IT systems for Germany's largest statutory pension insurer, Deutsche Rentenversicherung (DRV). The successful candidate will lead a team of approximately 60 individuals across Berlin or Frankfurt (Oder), overseeing IT infrastructure and applications outside the core rvSystem, akin to a non-SAP area in other organizations. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading team leaders, ensuring planning and operation of IT systems, optimizing services, implementing IT security measures for critical infrastructures, and managing projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the modernization of IT services for over 2,000 users and participate in one of Germany's largest development projects, rvEvolution, while continuously improving system security and outsourcing.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Computer Science, Administrative Informatics, Business Informatics, or comparable IT-related fields; alternatively, a university degree in another field with several years of current professional experience in a comparable IT role; or meeting the career requirements for higher non-technical or technical service.

Experience

  • Several years of current professional experience in IT, including leadership experience
  • Experience in leading and managing subordinate team leaders
  • Experience in ensuring planning, installation, and operation of IT systems
  • Experience in optimizing IT services
  • Experience in implementing IT security measures for critical infrastructures
  • Experience in managing projects and participating in committees
  • Experience in coordinating external service providers
  • Experience with typical maintenance intervals, load behavior, errors, causes of faults, and downtime/recovery times in IT systems
