Job Summary

Join the Bundeswehr's Cyber Security Center in Euskirchen as an Application Programmer, focusing on developing critical hardening specifications for IT systems. Your role involves independently researching and prioritizing hardening topics based on manufacturer specifications, BSI standards, and state-of-the-art information, with a focus on Linux-based client/server systems and active network components. You will identify technical details in various products, propose configurations, and test their impact in different environments. This position requires close collaboration with users to incorporate feedback and provide implementation support, ensuring robust IT security measures for the Bundeswehr. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor or Diploma FH) in a MINT field, preferably Computer Science with a focus on technical computer science, cyber security, technical information security, or comparable.

Experience

  • 3+ years in planning and administration of IT systems or creating information security concepts and risk assessment for IT systems, ideally acquired through certified processes
  • 3+ years in the development of system software, enabling recognition and comparison of software architectures from different manufacturers
  • 3+ years in information technology and electronics (ITE)
  • 2+ years in programming and scripting

  • Willingness to undertake regular domestic business trips and give presentations. Willingness to participate in regular and advanced training. Commitment to the liberal democratic basic order as per the German Basic Law. Agreement to participate in a medical examination if required. Agreement to participate in an extended security clearance (Ü2), which is mandatory for the position. Successful completion of the security clearance is required for permanent employment. Possession of a Class B driving license and willingness to acquire a Bundeswehr Class B driving license and drive official vehicles.
