Job Summary
The City of Gladbeck is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of Department to lead the administration of its childcare facilities within the Office for Youth and Family. This pivotal role involves managing 16 municipal daycare centers, overseeing funding for 27 independent facilities, and supervising childcare services, all in accordance with social and state regulations. The successful candidate will lead a team of 10 administrative staff and over 200 employees in municipal daycare centers, actively shaping the future of early childhood education and care in Gladbeck. This position offers significant scope for initiating and implementing fundamental changes, requiring strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to quality management and future-oriented planning in youth welfare.
Required Skills
Education
• Civil service qualification for career group 2, first entry-level position of the general administrative service (formerly higher non-technical service) OR • Completed administrative training with Administrative Course II
Experience
- Professional experience as a leader/manager
- Several years of professional experience in public administration
- Experience in the disbursement and accounting of state funds
- Experience in processing proof of use
Languages
Additional
- Driver's license (PKW) and willingness to use private car for business purposes
