Job Summary

This is an exceptional opportunity for highly motivated international candidates to pursue a PhD in One Health Helminthology within a structured four-year doctoral program in Berlin. Successful applicants will join the German Research Foundation (DFG)-funded Research Training Group (RTG) 3096, focusing on soil-transmitted helminths. The program emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach, integrating human, animal, and environmental aspects of infectious disease research. Projects will involve fieldwork in Kenya/Africa on human roundworm infections, studies on farm animals (chicken and pigs) and wildlife in Germany, and sociological/economic field studies in both Kenya and Germany. Candidates will work within internationally renowned research institutes, developing into One Health infectious disease specialists and acquiring at least 30 CP for a PhD graduate school certificate.
