Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated doctoral researcher to join an interdisciplinary team focused on scale-bridging correlative tomography. In this role, you will investigate hierarchical porous structures, specifically characterizing stationary phase materials (SPMs) used in chromatography and other porous materials. You will utilize advanced imaging techniques such as electron tomography (ET), nano X-ray computed tomography (nano-CT), and micro-CT to perform detailed 3D characterization. Key responsibilities include developing tailored sample preparation workflows using laser ablation and focused ion beam (FIB), refining data acquisition and reconstruction algorithms, and implementing machine/deep learning segmentation strategies for quantitative analysis of pore networks. You will also collaborate with material synthesis teams and analyze 3D pore data to support simulations. This position offers a dynamic research environment with access to cutting-edge facilities and mentorship from leading experts.
