Job Summary

This PhD position offers a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to cutting-edge research in life sciences, specifically focusing on inflammation and immunometabolism. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary and international team at the Molecular Cardiology lab, investigating mechanisms to reverse immune tolerance using a trained immunity approach, with applications in cardiometabolic diseases and sepsis. Daily tasks involve designing and conducting experiments using advanced techniques such as in vitro/ex vivo cell culture, multiomics data analysis, flow cytometry, immunohistology, and biochemical assays. The role requires close collaboration with colleagues, data interpretation, manuscript preparation, and active participation in scientific discourse. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in immunology or molecular biology, eager to develop innovative preclinical intervention strategies and translate findings into improved patient treatment.

Required Skills

Education

MSc or comparable degree in biological/medical sciences

Experience

  • Professional experience in immunology/molecular biology
  • Expertise in flow cytometry-based phenotyping and sorting, immunofluorescence microscopy and histopathological evaluation, or statistical programming languages like R or Python
  • Willingness to work independently and contribute to collaborative projects
