Job Summary

This role involves ensuring compliance with legal requirements for placing chemicals, biocidal products, paints, varnishes, and detergents on the market. The successful candidate will also monitor substance prohibitions and labeling requirements for waste products, as well as climate protection-related substance bans and requirements for fluorochlorocarbons and fluorinated gases. Day-to-day tasks include participating in European, federal, and state-wide market surveillance campaigns and collaborating with customs and market surveillance authorities within Germany and other EU member states. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to chemical safety and environmental protection within a dynamic regulatory environment, requiring a proactive approach and strong communication skills.

Required Skills

Education

University of Applied Sciences Degree (Diplom-Ing. (FH)) or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Environmental Technology, Environmental Sciences, or a comparable field with chemistry or chemical engineering content.

Experience

  • Willingness to intensively familiarize oneself with European single market law, its implementation into national law, and extensive technical regulations
  • Professional experience in market surveillance and chemical safety (advantageous)
  • Administrative experience (advantageous)

Languages

German (Fluent)

Additional

  • Class B driving license and willingness to undertake fieldwork throughout Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The position is available in Freiburg, Göppingen, Stuttgart, or Tübingen.
