Job Summary
As a Patent Engineer, you will join the growing Patent Department at ZEISS SMT, a technology leader in semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Your role is crucial in maintaining ZEISS's position among the top German companies for patent applications, contributing to the development of smaller, more powerful microchips. Day-to-day, you will support the IP Support team, patent attorneys, and inventors with operational tasks, including researching and analyzing patent and technological developments for freedom-to-operate and competitive analyses. You will also define and maintain monitoring profiles for patent publications, configure and manage research databases, and classify invention disclosures. This position offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of micro- and nanoelectronics, shaping the future of technology.
Required Skills
Education
Technical/scientific degree (e.g., Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry) with additional qualification as a Patent Engineer or a degree in Patent Engineering.
Experience
- Professional experience in an industrial environment
- Experience in handling and configuring databases for information gathering
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize extensive research into key insights and present them effectively
