Job Summary

As a Production Specialist in Downstream Processing (DSP), you will play a crucial role in ensuring the supply of biopharmaceutical products for patients. Working within a new, innovative biopharmaceutical production facility in Ulm, Germany, you will be responsible for executing production activities in buffer preparation, protein purification, and filling, ensuring all processes adhere to GMP standards and are meticulously documented. Your day-to-day will involve preparing, cleaning (CIP), and sterilizing (SIP) equipment, as well as operating and monitoring production processes via a state-of-the-art, fully automated process control system. You will also contribute to maintenance tasks, take ownership of specific production units, and leverage your expertise to optimize workflows and troubleshoot issues. This role offers the opportunity to actively shape processes within a highly motivated, multidisciplinary team, contributing to the future of healthcare at a leading pharmaceutical provider.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a BTA, CTA, Biology/Chemistry Laboratory Assistant, Pharmaceutical/Chemical Technician, or comparable technical field; OR a completed degree in Biotechnology, Bioprocess Engineering, Bioengineering, or a comparable field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in biopharmaceutical production
  • Practical experience in buffer preparation, protein purification, or filling of biopharmaceutical active ingredients (ideal)
  • Initial experience with plant automation (plant control systems, process control technology)

  • Willingness to work in a two-shift system, and to undertake on-call duties and weekend work as required.
