Job Summary

This role involves working at the intersection of algorithms, optical design, and system engineering to develop innovative visions and prototypes for future products within the ZEISS Group. The successful candidate will model, simulate, and evaluate sub-wavelength structures in photonic devices and optical systems critical to various applications. A key part of the role is advancing simulation capabilities by integrating with proprietary and ZEISS-owned software, as well as further developing these tools. This position requires a professional with a strong background in physics, computer science, or mathematics, coupled with excellent programming skills and a passion for bringing ideas to life in ZEISS products.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in physics, computer science or mathematics. PhD is a plus.

Experience

  • Proven and recognized expertise in simulation and modeling in both theory and implementation
  • State-of-the-art overview of latest research and industry trends in nano-structured surfaces, particularly in optical and acoustic effects
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience on how to develop simulations at scale and optimize regarding speed and efficiency
  • Hands-on mindset to make ideas come to life in products
