Job Summary
Join the National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT) in Berlin as a Software Engineer / Bioinformatician, contributing to cutting-edge cancer research. This role involves developing innovative software for the analysis, management, and interpretation of complex multi-omics data, essential for precision oncology and clinical studies. You will be instrumental in advancing data utilization through cloud systems and open-source software like SODAR and KIOSC, working closely with the GHGA team and Charité's pathology department. The position requires strong software development skills, particularly in Python, Django, and Bash, coupled with a solid understanding of bioinformatics methods. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise in a meaningful way, helping to integrate genomics, proteomics, and single-cell transcriptomics data to improve cancer treatment and patient outcomes.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree in bioinformatics, computer science, or similar
Experience
- Some years of post-degree work or research experience with omics data (ideally)
- Experience in research data management (strong advantage)
- Proven experience in creating well-designed and documented source code
- Proven ability to work productively with an existing code base
- Experience in scientific writing and publishing (preferred)

Additional
- Proof of immunity against measles (due to Infection Protection Act regulations); Position is initially limited to 2 years with possibility of prolongation; Based in Berlin.
