Job Summary

The Learning Support Assistant (LSA) plays a crucial role within an international early years and primary school setting in Basel, focusing primarily on children in Reception and Key Stage 1. Working closely with the class teacher and the Head of Inclusion, the LSA provides targeted academic, social, and emotional support to pupils, ensuring a high-quality, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment. Daily duties involve assisting with lesson delivery, providing individual and small group reinforcement in literacy and numeracy, preparing classroom resources, and managing student behavior constructively. This position requires fluency in English and comfort working in a multicultural setting, utilizing skills in time management and Google Workspace. Successful candidates must have the right to work in Switzerland and be committed to safeguarding children's welfare. Additional

  • Must have the right to work in Switzerland (Swiss and EU nationals and current permit holders). Must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure Barring Service or local country equivalent checks. This is an 83% contract term.
