Job Summary

This role involves developing and providing high-quality applications for tax administration in North Rhine-Westphalia and nationwide. The Software Developer will leverage their IT expertise at the interface between legacy systems and new program services, advising both internally within the team and with internal clients. Key responsibilities include modernizing existing applications, new development, maintenance, and support of Java applications in a modern enterprise environment, including data modeling, bug tracking, and testing. Required Skills

Education

Experience

  • Several years of experience in Java software development (>Java 6)
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL
  • Experience using Linux operating systems
  • Experience in 2nd or 3rd-level support

Additional

  • Willingness to undertake occasional business trips outside of North Rhine-Westphalia (typically not more than 5 days per year). Location is Düsseldorf (moving to Kaarst by mid-2026) or Paderborn.
