Job Summary

This role involves developing and providing high-quality applications for tax administration in North Rhine-Westphalia and nationwide. The Software Developer will apply extensive IT expertise at the interface between legacy systems and new program services, advising both the internal team and clients. Key responsibilities include modernizing existing applications, new development, maintenance, and support of Java applications in a modern enterprise environment, including data modeling. The position also entails debugging, troubleshooting (3rd-level support), and testing applications to minimize operational errors. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player, contributing to the digitalization of Germany's tax processes, making tax declarations simpler and digital visits to the tax office more efficient. This position offers a supportive work atmosphere, flat hierarchies, and creative freedom.

Required Skills

Education

University of Applied Sciences, Bachelor's, or Diploma degree in Information Technology or an IT-related field, or equivalent skills and relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • Several years of experience in software development with Java (>Java 6)
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL
  • Experience using LINUX operating systems
  • Experience in 2nd or 3rd-Level Support

Languages

German (Fluent)
