Job Summary

This role involves promoting European mobility among city employees and trainees, strengthening the European idea within the city administration and the wider community, and fostering Hannover's participation in European city networks. The successful candidate will contribute to the international work of the Office for International Affairs, which is central to the city's European engagement and international activities. The position requires a university degree, preferably in Political Science, Economics, or Law, along with experience in international cooperation or EU-level organizations. Strong English skills and experience in event management, funding acquisition, and public relations are essential. Required Skills

Education

University degree (e.g., Bachelor, Diplom (FH)), preferably in Political Science, Economics, or Law, or successful completion of Angestelltenlehrgang II (Employee Training Course II). A focus on European Studies is advantageous.

Experience

  • At least 1 year of experience in international cooperation and/or practical experience in EU-level organizations and institutions (professional experience and internships abroad in the EU)
  • Professional experience and additional qualifications and competencies must be demonstrated
  • Experience with event management, funding acquisition, and communication and public relations

Languages

English (Fluent)

Additional

  • Part-time position (19.5 hours per week). Good knowledge of the role of cities in Europe, municipal European work, and the functioning of the European Union. Ability to become proficient in changing subject matters and legal frameworks. Good knowledge of at least one other foreign language.
