Job Summary

This role involves ensuring the compliance of waste containers for final disposal, specifically for the Konrad repository. You will be responsible for performing activity and dose rate calculations, radiologically and materially describing radioactive waste, and creating nuclide distributions and material vectors. A key part of the job is planning the loading of waste containers, processing operational plans, and managing campaign registrations for the conditioning of radioactive waste. The position also entails compiling and reviewing comprehensive documentation for the Konrad repository. This is an exciting opportunity to work in the decommissioning of nuclear power plants, power plants, and industrial facilities, offering a stable full-time position with an unlimited contract and extensive training and development opportunities.

Required Skills

Education

Master's or Bachelor's degree in Natural Sciences or Engineering (e.g., (Nuclear) Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Radiation Protection) or equivalent; alternatively, completed training as a Radiation Protection Specialist or Technician in Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.

Experience

  • Professional experience in creating repository documentation for the Konrad repository
  • Experience with decommissioning/dismantling processes, particularly in preparing and documenting residual material/waste flow
  • Knowledge of radiation protection regulations (StrISchV)
  • Experience in repository procedures
  • Experience in the treatment or conditioning of radioactive materials
