Job Summary

Join Germany's Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) as a Mobile Counter-Surveillance Specialist, contributing to national cybersecurity. In this role, you will be part of a highly motivated team conducting critical counter-surveillance checks across Germany for federal and state authorities, as well as classified industries. Your daily tasks will involve performing measurements and inspections in high-risk areas and during conferences, selecting and testing suitable measurement systems, and analyzing results to detect illegal eavesdropping. You will also advise federal administration on prevention measures and contribute to the development of new testing procedures and prototypes. This position offers a unique opportunity to apply your technical expertise in a vital security context, ensuring the integrity of sensitive communications and environments.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree (University of Applied Sciences/FH-Diplom) in Telecommunications, Communication Technology, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Computer Science, Business Informatics, IT Security, or a comparable technical/IT-focused field. Alternatively, a Bachelor Professional in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (DQR/EQR Level 6).

Experience

  • Professional experience in information and communication technology
  • Experience in general telecommunications engineering
  • Experience in at least one electrical engineering field (e.g., high-frequency technology, measurement technology, network technology, or electronics)

Languages

Additional

  • Class B driver's license required. Willingness to participate in further training. Readiness for regular, multi-day business trips across Germany. Consent to an extended security clearance check (SÜG § 9) is mandatory, with no security risks identified (SÜG § 14). For foreign degrees, proof of equivalence with a German degree from the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB) is required.
