Job Summary

This role is for an experienced IT professional to lead the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) team at the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) in Cologne. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing VDI Thin Clients using a central management system, distributing and administering Virtual Apps and Desktops, and providing 3rd-level support. Key responsibilities also include troubleshooting and provisioning Thin Clients, leveraging expertise in network infrastructure, Active Directory, and client hardware. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor/Diplom [FH]) in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable field with an IT focus.

Experience

  • At least three years of professional experience in a relevant IT role, or equivalent abilities and experience demonstrated through comparable activities as a 'miscellaneous employee', or equivalent abilities acquired through at least five years of professional experience in activities corresponding to the described tasks.
  • Experience with virtualization (VMs) and servers.
  • Experience in project management and leading a small team.
