This role is for a Scientific Coordinator at the Institute for Theoretical Medicine (ITM) at the University of Augsburg, focusing on advancing foundational research and teaching in life sciences. The successful candidate will be responsible for science management, shaping the institute's development in line with agreed objectives. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and supporting national and international grant applications, organizing scientific events like retreats and symposia, managing reporting, optimizing internal processes, coordinating committee work, and supporting the institute's public relations. The position requires a strong background in life or natural sciences, proven experience in research project coordination, and excellent organizational and communication skills to foster collaboration within the institute and with external partners. Required Skills
Education
Successfully completed university degree (including doctorate) in life sciences or natural sciences
Experience
- Professional experience in coordinating or conducting interdisciplinary research projects, ideally in life or natural sciences
- Experience in science management
- Experience in leading and guiding employees (advantageous)
- Experience in acquiring third-party funding (advantageous)
