Job Summary

The City of Jena is seeking a Financial Administrator to join its Finance Department, specifically within the Budget Team for Departments 1-3. This role is crucial for managing and overseeing all finance-related transactions within the city's budget, including both revenue and expenditure. Day-to-day tasks involve processing incoming and outgoing invoices, monitoring outstanding receivables, and resolving discrepancies in financial accounts by collaborating with treasury management and other departments. The position also provides essential financial and budgetary support and advice to various departments, helping them manage their budgets effectively. This is a temporary, part-time position (30 hours/week) until December 31, 2026, serving as a substitute for an employee on sick leave. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as an Administrative Assistant (Public Administration), Tax Assistant, Office Management Clerk, or a comparable commercial qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in public sector budget and financial law is desirable
  • Professional experience with double-entry bookkeeping is desirable
  • User experience with financial accounting software, preferably AB-DATA/HKR
  • User experience with a document management system, preferably enaio
