Job Summary
This role at the University Hospital Cologne focuses on supporting the Translational Research Unit - Infectious Diseases (TRU-ID) by managing clinical sample collection and performing immunological tests. The successful candidate will be instrumental in coordinating and executing biobanking activities for various clinical infection studies, ensuring samples are received, processed, documented, and stored according to quality and safety standards. They will also assist in developing and performing immunological assays, particularly ELISA-based analyses, and maintain laboratory and study databases. This position offers the opportunity to work in a cutting-edge research environment, contributing to a better immunological understanding of infectious diseases and developing innovative therapies.
Required Skills
Education
Completed training as a Biomedical Technical Assistant (BTA), Medical Technical Assistant (MTA), Biology Laboratory Technician, or comparable qualification
Experience
- Professional experience in sample management, biobanking, or comparable laboratory activities
- Experience with immunological methods (e.g., ELISA) is desirable
