Job Summary
This Research Associate position, based in the 'Bavarian Forest Information System' staff unit, focuses on the 'VorDatStrat' project. The role involves developing and implementing Open Science and FAIR data strategies for forestry research and monitoring data. You will identify and establish FAIR and DOI implementation possibilities, define data migration and external data provision methods, and manage project workflows. A key part of the role is to conduct a proof of concept for data migration and provision for the forest climate station sub-program. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to making research data quality-assured, future-proof, and more accessible within a supportive and agile team environment.
Required Skills
Education
University degree in Geoinformatics or comparable fields (e.g., Administrative Informatics) or relevant professional experience in GIS.
Experience
- Professional experience in GIS (if not a Geoinformatics degree)
- Experience in project management
- Experience in leading workshops
