Job Summary

This role is for a dedicated Commissioning Engineer specializing in electrical engineering, focusing on the maritime sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for the commissioning of machinery, power generation systems, auxiliary systems, and electrical machinery in shipbuilding projects. This involves taking system responsibility for specific sub-areas of the overall ship system, technically guiding internal and external teams to ensure timely project completion, and guaranteeing smooth commissioning processes. A key aspect of the role is maintaining and documenting quality standards by updating test specifications and construction documents. The engineer will also serve as a crucial point of contact for authorities, clients, and other project stakeholders, and will be tasked with analyzing technical problems and implementing corrective measures. This position offers an opportunity to work on impactful, future-oriented projects within a diverse, international team.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training in a technical field (e.g., mechanical engineering or electrical engineering). Qualification as a state-certified technician or master craftsman is advantageous. STCW-relevant certificates (machinery) or switching authorization (electrical) are ideal.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in a technical profession, preferably in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering
  • Experience with document management systems, databases, and MS Office
  • Experience in commissioning machinery and electrical systems, particularly in shipbuilding
